Boasting the most stunning valley views imaginable, the homeowners felt the property’s original Spanish-style residence wasn’t doing justice to the surrounding natural beauty. In our first design build collaboration, Schmitt + Company partnered with The Home Index to reimagine the estate. Floor to ceiling windows were added throughout the property to frame the stunning landscape and let more light in, and natural stone and wood elements were incorporated throughout both the interior and exterior to create warmth, a nod to the indoor/outdoor lifestyle that Northern California is known for.

We installed several custom interior elements within the home, such as an elegant steel detailing that gave the house structure while allowing light to flood into the main living area. Dated Terra Cotta tile floors were replaced with beautiful warm character grade white oak throughout. The front entry was specifically designed so that arriving guests can gaze through to the backyard vistas from the moment they arrive at the front door.
